Our day in Bellagio has been amazing. We had a lovely breakfast and the off we went to Villa Melzi. The gardens there are from 1808. This was a home for the Duke of Lodi and later his summer home. Many Italian artists and landscapers worked to compose this beautiful scene on the shores of Lake Como. The various cedars and pine trees along with over 150 species of Camellias makes it stunning. I am unsure how any gardeners it takes to maintain it but they are doing a terrific job.
After Gardenia Melzi we strolled to town and met the gang for lunch. Waterfront scenery and delicious food made it fun.
We hiked in the afternoon to the east side of Bellagio and the historic district. With 100s of steps up and as many back down it was a work out ! We were able to get a great view of Villa Serbelloni Gardens and beautiful residential gardens.
