Spello for the day

Aqueduct Spello

We took the train to Spello. Quite easy and quick trip. Spello is right near Assisi. It is up high and has beautiful vistas. We met friends and it was a delight.
We did a log on walking up and down. That was to work off the most wonderful lunch in Collepino at the of the hill!
This village is a stopping point for hikers and cyclists from Assisi and Perugia.I'd recommend   it.

Here are just of the few pictures of 100s I took. More later when wifi is easier.

Rome day Due

Have I only been here one day? It seems like longer.
Today we started at St Maria Della Vittoria and the famous sculpture St Teresa in Ecstasy.  The St Sunanna and on to San Carlo  di Quattro di Fontane. Next was St Andrea di Quirnale. These 4 churches were a great review of Roman art, architecture and the church.
We moved on to the Scuidero di Quinarle for a special exhibit of Titans. Wow factor. The Tizano exhibit is OVER  the TOP. It is well organized and a lovely way to understand a body of talented work over many decades. They have gathered works from many Musei over Europe and they are beautifully curated.

We went to the Ghetto for lunch at Dal Pomperie. Fried artichokes and Ciaco di Pepe. A crisp white wine. Lovely.
The afternoon B spent at the Capuchin Crypt. I opted out. And then down the hill to see the Trevi Fountain. ( Shoe shopping at Altariva first) aAnd Piazza Collona. We stopped at Giolitto for gelato #1 of the day. Mango Limone for me and Hazelnut  and Crema for B. A sit in the shade and relaxing people watching made it perfect for table service.

We had plans for a wine and food pairing class at Risacoili with Alessandro Pepe. Wow all worth it! The wines, the cheeses, the salumi were SUPERIOR!  We learned a lot about Italian wines from every region. It was wonderful. And might I mention tasty?

After a power nap, we finished the evening off with wine and lasagna at Cul de Sac on Vis Pasquino. But of course. Daily GElato #2 was at Frigidarium. It truly is the best so far. Tonight: Coconut and  dark chocolate while B had Frigidarium special. Which is essentially toffee.  Well enough said about gelato. I am glad I am walking miles each day.

Tomorrow more art at the Borghese Gallery. Ciao from the City of Rome.

Morning stop at the Pantheon.

The most beautiful. Borromini duomo

The Pantheon  at night. The columns all lit up.
